CRT (Combined Rural Traders) was formed in 1970 at the Canobolas Hotel in Orange, New South Wales, by a small group of locals determined to get a better deal for the region’s independent rural retailers and their farming customers.

The agricultural industry has changed considerably since that first meeting in Orange and CRT has grown with those changes.

Today, the original member base of six has evolved into Australia’s largest group of independent rural retailers with over 300 stores throughout the nation. With the expertise and resources to help you grow, whether you’re farming wheat in Geraldton, to cotton at Dalby, rice at Griffith or lettuce at Werribee; to grapes in Clare. From grazing cattle at Katherine, to the weekender hobby farmer, CRT has you covered.

CRT has one of the largest range of rural merchandise products in Australia; with over 650 suppliers and 240,000 products and a wide array of exclusive arrangements such as Ancare, OSKA and Growforce.

Our 240 plus strong national agronomy network provides expertise across cropping, horticulture and viticulture markets and our specialist animal health advisors along with rural merchandise staff, will make sure you have the right products, and advice to maximise your returns.

Nutrien Ltd, operating in Australia through its wholly owned subsidiary Landmark Operations Limited (Landmark), officially acquired Ruralco Holdings Limited (Ruralco) on 1 October 2019.

The combined Ruralco and Landmark ag retail businesses, known as Nutrien Ag Solutions® provide our clients with products ranging from fertiliser, chemicals, pumps, poly pipe, to cattle crushes and fencing. As well as, providing services in wool, livestock, real estate, risk management, water, grain marketing, finance and insurance.

CRT provides, the most comprehensive rural offer that reflects our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of rural and regional Australia. At the heart of CRT are the communities we live and work in. With outlets spread out across Australia, CRT members are involved in a wide variety of different local community initiatives, events and organisations. A strong culture of lending a hand to those in need underscores what it means to be a part of the CRT family.

We provide assistance, both practical and financial, at local and national level, to a wide range of groups and organisations. Whether it’s sponsorship for sporting clubs and events, fundraising for community service organisations, local schools and health care facilities, or helping to move stock and rebuild fences in the wake of fires or floods, we’re out there doing what we can to help.

We are also a corporate partner of Lifeline. This partnership aims to support the great work Lifeline does in crisis support, assisting those suffering with mental health issues and preventing suicide. With the support of Nutrien Ag Solutions®, its many partners and members, we are helping Lifeline extend its reach throughout rural and remote areas of Australia and make a positive difference to the lives of many.

CRT members are passionate about their local communities. So, we take our responsibility to supporting the communities that support us seriously and we’ll continue to work with them to help make a difference where we can.
